Abstract
Communication and understanding emotions is important for social relationships throughout life. Child with hearing problems, during his development, may have difficulties in understanding the finer feelings, complex concepts, internal needs and relationships between people, and therefore the development of emotional intelligence. This study aimed to examine whether children with cochlear implants can recognize emotion in voice behavior as well as healthy and normal hearing children of the same hearing age and as a healthy normal hearing children of the same chronological age, and are there any differences in repeating what they hear. The results have shown no significant differences in visual and auditory perception of emotion among children with cochlear implants that are properly rehabilitated and children with healthy hearing, but that there are differences in the repetition of vocal emotional expression.
