Abstract

The paper explains the basic principles of the photographic camera and the impact of new technologies on their development of camera and photographs. The paper is divided into 6 parts. The first part covers a brief history of cameras and photography from the camera obscure through daguerreotypes and photographic film, to the emergence of digital cameras. In the second part the author explained the basic parts of the camera and gave an overview of their types. Further, the concept of SLR cameras and their usage is explained. The third part refers to the RAW format in which the author explains the principle of its creation and problems in its usage. The fourth part deals with the comparison of past and current photography principles, through which the problems with the technology were explained. The fifth section logically follows the fourth by explaining the possible ways of processing digital images. The examples of Adobe Photoshop and GIMP photo editing programs are given. In the last section, the author deals with the future development of digital cameras and the further development of the connecting technologies.
