Abstract

The consequences of broader contemporary social changes: the complexity of today, setting new challenges, values, priorities and behavior of school requier revised role that should be reflected in the transition from (re)enhanced cognitive towards the creation of pro-social community of students, teachers and parents. Such a modified school is implied both holistic and humanistic approach to education based on constructivist or human development paradigm and interaction and communication form of education. The responsibility for overall development of students, and especially social development that is unjustly neglected in relation to cognitive, have teachers and parents as co-creators of school curriculum. The school curriculum contributes to optimal development of students, respecting the individuality and uniqueness of each child through a variety of activities, theory, methodology, content and structure and co-constructive basis of its creation and development. With a view to a thorough approach to this work, a theoretical analysis of the scientific and technical literature has been conducted, dealing with the social development of students and curriculum.
