Abstract

This thesis contains two divided, yet connected parts. In the first part, it presents review work, which main theme is the relevance of issues in tourism, which is conidered by author as one of the massest social phenomenons nowdays, and is not represented and valued enough as he deserves. First chapters contemplate about origins of tourism itself and also with beginings of first social thoughts and theories in social sciences which are dealing with the phenomenological aspects of tourism. Special attention is given to the short review in origins of sociology of tourism, as one of the youngest branches in sociology, and also to her most relevant authors. In the second part of thesis, in the form of mini – study, there is a word about qualitative research by the author of thesis, who engaged the role of complete participant in his ethnographical research, and tried to sketch the main patterns of tourist behaviour in the locations in Macedonia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Syria and Jordan. Ethnographic method in my variation is described and explained, and after that, there is presentation and interpretation of the results of research itself.
