Abstract

The aim of this study was to examine if there are differences in relationship satisfaction among similar interests and leisure activities. Specifically, we examinated if there are differences in correlation between similar interests and common leisure activities with relationship satisfaction between men and women. Second, we examined if there are differences between partners with secure and insecure attachment style regardless similar interests and common leisure activities. In the end, we examinated if secure attached partners with lot of similar interests and common leisure activities are more satisfied with their relationship than secure attached partners with less similar interests and common activities. We have sample of 369 students, 240 women and 129 men between 20 and 28 years old. Results showed that there is difference in correlation between similar interests and common activities and relationship satisfaction between men and women. There is stronger correlation between interests and activities with relationship satisfaction between women than men. Partners who are secure attached in their relationship are more satisfied than ones who are insecured attached, regardless similar interests and activities, both man and woman. Results showed main effect of attachment and common activities. There is interaction between variables. Women who are secure attached and have more common activities with their partners are more satisfied with their relationship than one who have less common activities.
