Abstract

Negotiation is in most countries a course that is taught in the context of study programs in law, economics, political science and communications. The aim of this study was to compare the syllabi of Ljubljana, Vienna and Harvard Universities, to see to what extent negotiation teaching methods differ in selected universities with those at the University of Zagreb. Comparison of the online versions of syllabi of negotiation courses, with clearly accentuated learning outcomes and course purpose, showed that the mentioned universities mostly use the same teaching methods - usually simulations, followed by role-playing, case studies, classical frontal lectures, discussions, group work, debriefings, and video simulation with their analysis afterwards.
