Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate Croatian adaptation of the Implicit Association test for Aggression (IAT-A). 97 psychology students participated in the study. Beside IAT-A, one more measure of implicit aggressiveness was applied in the research - Conditional reasoning test for Aggression (CRT-A) along with the measure of explicit aggression – Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire (BP-QA). The results of IAT-A have shown that participants in general have weak association between self-concept and „Aggression“ which implies low proness to aggresive behaviour. Furthermore, IAT and BP-QA significally correlated indicating that participants with stronger association between aggression and self-concept also have higher explicit aggression. Additionally, in order to examine criterion-related validity of IAT, two misbehaviour tests were used – Counterproductive organizational behaviour for students (COB-S) and Current Misbehaviour Indeks (CMI). While the BP-QA significally correlated with criterion measures, no correlations were found between IAT and any other applied measure. Given results indicate that further research of this implicit aggression measure is needed.
