Abstract

In view of the fact that a significant amout of literary criticism of W.G. Sebald's work focuses on the motif of the journey, this article attempts to analyze both the travelogue "The Rings of Saturn" (1995) as well as Sebald's only novel "Austerlitz" (2001) with respect to the inextricable ling between W. G. Sebald's specific discourse of history, past and memory and the motif of the journey.
