Abstract

The aim of this study was to examine the importance of practicing sitting volleyball in war veterans with physical disabilities and its impact on some aspects of quality of life. Participants (N=101) included in the final processing of data are combat veterans with physical disabilities. The average age of participants was M = 49.98 years (SD= 5.63), average percentage of physical damage in the M = 67.52 (SD=24.347). On the recommendation of a friend or other person began to play 55.8% of participants, and the main motive of the current play is friendship and friendship. It feels more useful than when you play sitting volleyball matches 56.4% of participants. Participants in this study are considered to be family and friends as part of the social environment to fully understand their problems and to appreciate what they have experienced, for the state and state institutions generally considered to be a lesser understanding and respect. Self-assessment of quality of life questionnaire MANSA measured in four groups of participants (veterans who play sitting volleyball, the psychotherapeutic treatment of veterans, veterans with no treatment and control groups) indicates a statistically significant difference (F=195.411, df=3, p <0.001) between groups. Among veterans who play volleyball and the control group no statistically significant difference when both groups were statistically significantly different from group psychotherapy in the treatment of veterans and veterans with no treatment.
