Abstract

The aim of this graduation thesis has been to investigate the number of religion publishers being active in Croatia today. Reference tools like „Book and music publishers in Croatia directory 1997/98“ and the Catalogue of the National and University Library in Zagreb have been used for this research. Religion publishing houses established before 1990 being still active have been found out but also those that ceased their publishing activity. The number of publications published by each publishers has been found out. On the basis of these data trends in religion publishing have been considered. Yet the description of this kind of publishing has been primarily based on the activities of the six biggest and most important religion publishers. The investigation has shown that Kršćanska sadašnjost is the leading religion publisher in Croatia, followed by Verbum, Glas Koncila, Znaci Vremena, Teovizija and Veritas.
