Abstract
As said before, language is important part of someones' identity. To protect that identity, some individuals create groups that are built on certain simbols. Simbols can be in form of language in case of language groups or ethnicity, language and else in case of ethnic groups. When these groups come to a theritory of another country, case of minorities appear. Every country that has any kind of miorities, is obligated to protect these groups. Although not every country acknowledges existance of minorities on its teritory, it is still obligated to protect these minorities based on international conventions. Republic of Croatia is also obligated by these conventions, and also by its own laws to protect national minorities on hers teritory. It is done a large of amount of work to improve position of minorities, but there is still a lot of work to do.
