Abstract
The text of the thesis gathers methodical approach to political speeches in class. First, there is a brief history of rhetoric and public speaking afterwards. The text also delivers theoretical and practical part about political speeches. In the practical part the inaugural speeches of Croatian President Mesic (2000), Josipovic (2010) and Barack Obama (2009) are analyzed. Besides that, rhetorical features, voice characteristics and non-verbal signs of spokespersons are analyzed too. After a detailed study, the main objectives and principles in political speeches in the classroom are presented. Once the objectives and principles were conveyed, the theme processing in schooling as well as recommendations for classes (introduction, development and final part). In the end, there is example of two school hours provided for processing of this unit.
