Abstract

In the research are analysed the operating system of the Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT) license fee collection, the HRT information system and the interconnection thereof. It will also examine the HRT system’s dependence on efficient license fee collection. The research proves that it would be impossible for the HRT system to operate at the current quality and quantity level if it were not for its effective information system ensuring stable funding of the HRT. The complete replacement of the fee collection system, business processes and software reengineering and hardware infrastructure modernization have created the conditions for modernizing and increasing the efficiency of fee collection. Activities developed through different stages and facilitated maximum system efficiency and thereby the financial stability of the Croatian Radiotelevision in times of the greatest economic crisis. The paper analyzes the results and positive changes brought by the new information system as opposed to negative trends in the national media environment.
