Abstract

The basis of Focht's ontology is an attempt to think about the question of what is a work of art in the age of technocracy and the rule of reason. In this way Focht continues phenomenological tradition of aesthetic thought, recorded in the works of Husserl, Ingarden, Hartmann, Adorno, giving his contribution in understanding the layered nature of art. Today, twenty years after his death, the question about the essence of art work is still calling for a debate. Therefore, there is a need to examine Focht's contribution and determine his place in an effort to determine the areas of the true human spirit.
