Abstract

This work is based on Hannah Arendt's theory of totalitarianism and construction of the belonging model and the presentation of three distopian novels: Zamjatin's We, Huxley's Brave new world and Orwell's 1984, whose worlds are viewed in the light of Arendt's model. In the begining there is a short explanation of the concept of totalitarianism; afterwards are mentioned elements of which the model is conceptualized: mases, propaganda, teror, organization of the movement, leader, secret police, and ideology. After the concept of dystopia is mentioned, novels and their worlds are presented. Finaly, similarities and diferences between fictionalised worlds and H. Arendt's model are to be compared.
