Abstract

The article shows how students in Croatian language classes can be motivated by using drama expression. Drama is addressed in the text as useful in the Croatian language classes because it helps students to relax and talk about a problem taking on the role of a certain character. Students develop oral skills without stress as they do not talk to the teacher directly. Twelve drama methods have been described, half of which have been used as motivation for concrete units in elementary school, while the other half has been used for motivation in secondary school.
