The focus of the master thesis is directed on studying the role of integrated information systems (IIS) in the field of media activities, more accurately media archives. Subject and purpose of the work, structure, hypothesis, sources and methods of data gathering are described in introductory part, while the next chapters describe the following concepts: information, information system, information system objective, fundamental principles of information integration, advantages and disadvantages of IIS. In the cantral part, through applications’ screen shots, four information systems of Croatian Radiotelevision media archives (AV, Phono, Photo, Newspapers) are presented, which are observed from the aspect of integration. In te final part a table of compared data on the basis of which all four systems can be searched is given. Thus, it is possible to apply the integration and achieve better level of availability of information in the aforementioned systems, which further enables faster and easier search of archival records. The obtained results will be applied to related archival activities and determine a degree of integration of information systems and its effectiveness in managing archival activities and managing archival media materials.
