Abstract

This work covers a descriptive view and an analysis of the Juriceo brothers’ painting activity, which is also the first home workshop on the island of Krk. Therefore, the first part of this work presents data on painting events in the Croatian littoral in the XVII. and XVIII. century in order to easier establish their relationship to newspapers that appear in the artwork of that time. Next is the chapter on the presence of Juriceo brothers in the history and art literature, as well as a chapter in which all the works that are being attributed to them are presented in an organized chronological order. The final part of this work deals with the analysis of the work and the formal description of the images in order to determine their relationship to the Venetian painting work that was presented mostly on the island of Krk and the Central European cultural circle at that time. All of this ultimately results in the conclusion that in the artwork of the Juriceo brothers the most prevalent is the proven traditional renaissance tradition.
