Abstract
This paper deals with the role of everyday mobility in the social and academic life of students at the University of Zagreb. The Republic of Croatia is characterized by a high level of centralization and inequality among the counties, and it is questioned how this affects the students population and consequently the commuter - students population. Through interviews with students an insight into their experiences and the conditions of daily travel from Zagrebačka, Krapinsko - zagorska, Karlovačka and Sisačko - moslavačka county is given. Big differences in conditions of everyday travel from all four tested counties are noticed, and the initial hypothesis of how economically stronger counties offer better conditions proved inaccurate.
