Abstract
This diploma thesis is a monographic overview of the parish churchof St. Cross in Ogulin, a town on the border of Croatian regions of Gorski kotar and Lika. The first part of the thesis describes the town's history and also the history of the parish of Ogulin, one of the oldest in that part of Croatia. The second part describes the chruch's architecture, altars and their sculptural decorations, paintings and frescoes and other church equipment (such as church bells, the organ and stained-glass windows), and also all of the modifications and restaurations that have happened since the church was built, mainly from the 20th century. The thesis presents all of the information available on the church, but also highlights the problem of the church not being researched enough and not being included in the art history books that deal extensively with Croatian Baroque and Classicist architecture.
