Abstract
The paper in the strict sense deals with the interpretation of selected works by Friedrich Nietzsche. In parallel to the intention of elucidate his thoughts about body and dance, this paper tries to establish a link between considerations and applications of these (interconnected) concepts in anthropological research. Overlapping between these two disciplines in so called dance discourse is inevitable, regarding the fact that anthropology needs a general definition of dance and philosophy requires the consciousness of the human (carnal) founding of man. This point is precisely where the significant contribution of Nietzsche's thinking comes from, since he understands dance as a connection between biology and art. Not only did he placed dance as one of the key notions of his philosophy, but more importantly, he broke the silence concerning the dance that has so far been neglected in scientific approach. In a broader sense, the paper deals with dance as an act in which the inseparability of the physical and cognitive is related to the way in which the holistic perception of man reflects on the established dichotomies between mind-body and nature-culture.
