Abstract
Optimising business processes is long-term challenge in any organisation. By analysing business processes in archives we can better understand their importance for day to day functioning of an archive, structural analysis of an organisation is also a necessity. In order to efficiently reach the predefined goals of an organisation it is of paramount importance to be aware of all primary and auxiliary business processes. By comparing digital and conventional ways of doing business we can ascertain their advantages and disadvantages. Although most of the work in today’s work environment is done via computers, a large amount of work is still conducted on paper hardcopies. This is partly due to financial aspects, and partly due to a slow legislative process.
