Abstract
In this graduate thesis, the entire process of 3D design is described. The basics of modeling and areas of using 3D models are shown. Modeling is the first step in 3D design and it is followed by material editing and texturing, illumination, scene camera setting and rendering. Video game industry is chosen as an example of an area in which 3D design is used and the roles of employees that work in the process of developing video games are listed. The process of 3D modeling in video games is described, as well as everything that is used in it, along with instructions which need to be followed to make a quality model. Video game character modeling process is different and more complicated than modeling other elements and that is the reason it is decided to be shown. Ultimately, the practical example is done so that all previous steps of 3D design can be united in this one praxis.
