Abstract
The thesis presents the implementation of the e-Spis IT system as the Croatian government’s response to the European Union’s demands for improved and modernized justice systems in the member countries. The e-Spis system was implemented in most Croatian courts, the Varaţdin Municipal Court having been among the first, and the implementation phase lasted from 2008 to 2013. The thesis describes several fundamental features of the system – the administration module and the authorization matrix as well as court case file creation, file search, recording court actions and decisions, and archiving solved case files via the user application. The thesis also describes interconnection of the justice system via other systems which allow citizens and judges insight into court proceedings and practice – the e-Predmet, an electronic court message board and the Court Practice Portal SupraNova.
