Abstract
This paper deals with the basic concepts and methods used to create the structure and layout of a website using the CSS Grid command tool. The purpose of this paper is to showcase the features provided by these newly implemented types of commands, which have made it significant easier to work on websites. The setting of new web page standards is shown. After introduction, a brief explanation of terms related to CSS grids and web design is provided. Then a historic review of the CSS grid is given up until today. The basic terminology that follows the CSS grid is explained by visual portrays of the most important parts that build a web page. A comparison between CSS grid and other tools that are most commonly used today is made. In the end, two examples of replication of popular web pages showing the improvements introduced by the CSS grid are given.
