Abstract
The thesis discusses today's increasingly issue of fatness or obesity presented through experiences, that is, of narratives of obese people. Research based on participant observation and in-deepth interviews shows how different conditions favor obesity and how obesity greatly affects many aspects of the life of the informants and causes a sense of dissatisfaction, shame, and isolation. Paper also examines the position of an individual within society considering his weight or obesity, which shows the existence of condemnation, prejudice and stigmatization of obese persons in the Croatian society.
