Abstract
Many authors have doubts in persuasive power of the image and thus do not support the idea of visual rhetoric. Electronic media played a key role in creating the term of visual rhetoric and raising its persuasive value. For modern political rhetoric, it is unavoidable to use visual element, which completes the image of the speaker. The intention of this master thesis was to explain the way of using visual rhetoric for the purpose of pre-election political campaigns. An example of using visual rhetoric in politics is demonstrated on the American Presidential Campaign in 2016. During their campaigns presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump relied on many visual contents to help them propagate their political programs and messages. Visual elements played a significant role on the success of their presidential campaigns.
