Abstract
I am starting my thesis with a brief introduction in which I am acknowledging the growing interest of professional public in the topic of industrial heritage, namely the topic of textile industry - which unlike the first one increased in the second half of the last century, more intensively throughout the nineties, and is now finding its place outside the boundaries of profession – in the mainstream media. In continuation, I am defining the fundamental concepts and terminology, and briefly presenting the historical timeline which ends with the examples of transformation of industrial heritage and social aspects of textile industry. Following that is the determination in selecting the most adequate way of preserving - preservation by documenting and writing about textile industrial heritage. Following that is the proposal for establishing the Museum of Textile Industry on the premises of the former textile factory Nada Dimić in Zagreb, Croatia. In the final part of my thesis I am writing about historical development of the former factory Nada Dimić and its social values, and the potential of becoming a place of great cultural significance.
