Abstract
In this work author performs lexical analysis of the jargon on the word sample taken from „Rječnik šatrovačkog govora“ (Dictionary of slang) from 1981 and „Rječnik hrvatskoga žargona“ (Dictionary of Croatian jargon) from 2001. Gender stereotyping and sexist use of the language is in focus of the analysis. The presence of gender stereotyping has been proven by recognizing the lack of motal counterparts and existence of gender-stereotyped images of physical appearace, character and sexuality of both woman and men. Significant presence of use plentitude of nouns that describe male homosexuals and female prostitutes has also been noted.
