Abstract
This article intents to present elements of postcolonial discourse in american mainstream cinema. On the basis involving cinematic techniques and representational elements in Hollywood's movie naration, the goal is to explain visual strategies of resistance to eurocentric, imperial and colonial discourses inside the american cinatography's dominant global industry and possibilities to create alternative identities involving minorities, subaltern and orientalist groups. Article presents construct of middle east's oriental space imaginitive geographies in the classic Hollywood's period portraits and the stereotipisation of Middle east and Northern Africa peoples groups and sexualisation and objectivisation of female characters. In the King Kong movie analysis, intention is to present evolvement of cinematic monster through different periods as it is the racial and sexual stereotype representations from the original motion picture until 21.century remakes. Aftet the postcolonial Africa's analysis in King Kong movies focus is moving on construction of alternative narratives of nation and continent historical period in hollywood's melodrama Australia. Article last part is taking notion on horor monster's development and possibilities of reading vampire and zombie elements as postcolonial moments in american mainstream cinematography.
