Abstract
The aim of this study was to examine the link between attachment dimensions and ideal relationship dimensions and to explore the connection of that link with relationship satisfaction. Study was conducted on sample of 378 participants in romantic relationships, age 18 to 37, balanced by gender. The results indicate that people with higher result on avoidance dimension prefer less intimacy in ideal relationship. Anxiety dimension was not significantly correlated with dimensions of ideal relationship. Additionally, participants with high result on avoidance and anxiety were less satisfied in their relationships. As proposed, people who were deprived in current relationship, compared to ideal one, were less satisfied than those who had no discrepancy or profited. Opposite of expected, interaction between attachment and discrepancy between current and ideal relationship was not connected with relationship satisfaction. There was no gender difference in relation pattern between attachment, description of ideal and current relationship and relationship satisfaction.
