Abstract
In this study we examined the difference in life satisfaction among persons with paraplegia who work and those that do not work, differences in Warr environment characteristics skale, and analyzed if Warr environmental characteristics explain relationship between working status and life satisfaction. Study participants were members of the Croatian Association of paraplegics and quadriplegics who have paraplegia diagnosis (N=87). Questionaire was sent by mail to the participants addresses. Previous studies have shown that is life satisfaction associated with several demographic, social, functional and clinical characteristics, and one of important factors that affect life satisfaction of people with paraplegia is their employment status. People with paraplegia who work are more satisfied with life than those who do not work. This research results partially corroboreted hypothses. Results showed that people who work had higher scores on Warrovih working environment characteristics scale. People with paraplegia who work had better environment than those that do not work. Also, people with paraplegia who work are more satisfied with life than those who do not work, and have higher scores on a Diener life satisfaction scale. This research results analysis showed that Warr environmental characteristics did not explain connection between employment status and life satisfaction. Variable that did explain that connection is participants age.
