Abstract
Hearing impairment and learning a foreign language are two topics of growing interest to the large number of people. With the advancement of technology and science, there are more opportunities for rehabilitation of persons with hearing impairments and their language learning. Hearing impairment has different types and different degrees. Depending on this, there are different ways of listening to and learning a foreign language. There are several methods to learn a foreign language, and for people with hearing impairments most useful and most practical is structural global audiovisual method (SGAV). SGAV method developed from verbotonal system, as well as phonetic pronunciations correction, which is also used in the teaching of foreign languages and also in rehabilitation of hearing impairment. These methods are applied in education of hearing impaired persons in elementary school of polyclinic SUVAG and attempts to apply in elementary school Davorin Trstenjak.
