Abstract

This thesis presents a complete description of articulation disorders and their causes of mostly organic origin. They are followed by disorders of pronunciation, which are divided into three main groups. These are simple disorders, systemic disorders and incorrect pronunciation. The paper mostly deals with incorrect pronunciation of the sounds. Those are sigmatism, rhotacism, lambdacism, kapacism and gamacism, tetacism and deltacism, etacism and others. Other disorders are associated with the disorder of sonority, reduced fork angle, general oral superficiality and cuddly speech. Diagnostics should be given and agreed upon by the whole team in order to get an accurate diagnosis, which can later be used in determining the right therapy for the patient. Rehabilitation is carried out by the rehabilitator who has previously planned the rehabilitation according to the diagnostic findings. The procedure requires a great cooperation of patient and his family (parents). At the end of this paper a specific case of a rehabilitation plan and treatment of a girl N.C. is given, as well as the report on the procedure in correcting the pronounciation of thesound /l/. In the description of the therapy, as well as in the attachment at the end of the paper, words and phrases used are listed. Everything is followed by a CD with the audio recording taken at the very beginning and at the end of the therapy.
