Abstract

Purpose of the research is examination of response distortion capabilities depending on specific context of personality questionaire application. Participants took a personality questionaire (IPIP – 100; International Personality Item Pool) in situation of honest responding (N=370) as well as in the real-life (N=602) and by instruction manipulated selection situation (N=416). Results of expert evaluation, as a specific personality profile criterium for a military pilot avocation, were also used. Participants distorted their responses in a fictive selection and in a real-lfie situation. Also, regarding the criterium, participants in a fictive situation were more succesfull in selection procedure. Personality profiles in selection situations differed significantly from the experts ideal military pilot profile. However, they do posses certain features which indicate that participants can produce specific personality profiles depending on situation requirements.
