Abstract

This thesis is about sentence alignment and the impact that alignment had on computer assisted translation. The thesis starts with a short history of computer assisted translation and afterwards describes the process of sentence alignment. A research was done as a part of the thesis on a Croatian-English parallel corpus consisting of 35 texts relating to the Republic of Croatia. Texts were aligned using CoRal sentence alignment tool. A short analysis of the study results was done in the end.
