Abstract
For the needs of the entrance exam for the Psychology Department of the University of Zagreb, in 1994 Alija Kulenović made two new parallel versions of the Problem test. Collected data are used in this work. A.Kulenović and M.S.Žebec made descriptive statistic of the two new tests, and they checked the consistency of parallelism. No other information of the two new tests has been published. The major goal of current work is item analysis, factor analysis and attempt of reducing tests and what are the consequences on the parameters of the tests. Item analysis showed that certain amount of items are different in each test. Item difficulty varies from 0.0371 to 0.9971. Item discrimination coefficient goes from -0.0482 until 0.4979. Intercorrelation between items are from -0.143 to 0.466. Factor analysis resulted, on both tests, with one general factor, which we called "sensitivity for problems-. Higher difficulty in both tests resulted by excluding 30 items in them, but a somewhat lower sensibility and almost no change in reliability. Factor structure and correlation with external criterions have not been changed. By excluding some items from both tests, they showed to be still parallel.
