Abstract
The modern library achieves its mission of creating a "third space" and a community meeting point with numerous activities, such as recently popular book clubs. For the purpose of this thesis, a research was conducted via questionnaires in five book clubs for adults in public
libraries in the City of Zagreb. The aim of the study was to show which work strategies contribute to a successful book club, and apart from the results of the conducted research, the thesis includes the theoretical basis of the phenomenon of book clubs.
