Abstract
World of Warcraft is the most popular MMORPG (massive multiplayer online role playing game) which today counts approximately seven million monthly subscribers (March 2014.). World of Warcraft offers virtual world full of content and different options for players and it is a main goal of this research to see if there is a connection between choosing different characters within game and players' value system. For that purpose we have used Schwartz Value Survey (1992) which represents 10 value types, and also a questionnaire about main game character in World of Warcraft, devised by author. Differences in values have been found regarding choice of main character in a game and it's characteristics. Players who prefer characters from Alliance over Horde fraction value tradition and power as more important. Those who play as healers or tanks are more benevolent that DPS players. Choosing new races (developed in expansions) in a game is also connected to higher value of value types: stimulation, independence and universality.
