Abstract

This thesis surveys the presence of Croatian libraries on Facebook from 2012 to present in order to measure their quantitative and qualitative online presence. The result of the findings was compared with earlier studies in order to determine the different types of libraries and their varied presence on Facebook. Interaction between users and libraries was measured over a period of two weeks. An upward growth trend in overall presence is evident since 2009, however the vast majority of libraries lack a strategy to use Facebook as a tool for community engagement and public interaction.
