Abstract
Perfectionism and creativity are separately quite explored constructs, but studies that have investigated the relationship between them are meager, and the results are inconsistent. The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between perfectionism and creativity. The study was conducted on 70 psychology students (57 female and 13 male students). Perfectionism was measured by R-APS questionnaire (The revised Almost Perfect Scale, Slaney et al, 2001), and creativity of the participants was evaluated with the CAT-technique (The consensual Assessment Technique, Amabile, 1982). Creativity products (collage) was evaluated by 7 judges (5 female and 2 male) to a total of 10 dimensions of assessment. Conducted research has shown that there were only three significant correlations between dimension of perfectionism High Standards: with two dimensions of creativity- organization and novelty ideas, and correlation with factor of Creativity. On the basis of these results we conclude that perfectionism and creativity are two mutually independent constructs.
