Abstract
In the patriarchal society, women's main roles are the role of a mother and a
caretaker. Opstetrical perspective of women's pregnancy can risk women's health with
its sometimes unnecessary procedures. The role of a caretaker can also have an impact
on women's health, because women can ignore their health and expose themselves to
health risks that are commonly attached to caretaking. Through modern practices of
construction of femininity, women can also expose themselves to health risks.
Medicinal view of female proceses and widespread medicalization of female proceses
can also affect health of women. In the effort to make a change in female perception of
their own physiological proceses and for them to find the inner wisdom of their bodies,
women need to start reexamining their gender roles and lifestyles.
