Abstract

The aim of this master’s thesis is to elaborate historical and architectural modifications of industrial complex Rikard Benčić from the years when the sugar refinery was situated in it and the first buildings were built, to the changes that occurred during the tobacco factory and finally factory machines Rikard Benčić. In addition to the historical situation, thesis covers the last two decades of planning and revitalization of the complex, the ideas and projects for its adaptation to Rijeka's cultural district. The second part relates to the presentation of cultural heritage in a virtual environment, with particular focus on the recording of architectural units in a digital form, with a few examples of existing and promising projects.
