Abstract

This paper tries to encompass the multilocality characteristics of the industrial space of the Shipyard 3. maj. Examining the shipyard not only as a place, but as a process of making places through meaning inscription, focuses on the voices and stories of its workers, whose different experiences, practices, views, memories, relationship towards the space and the relationships inside the space enable multivocal emplacement of 3. maj. The analysis of their narratives intends to show how the meaning of the space has changed through time, and to locate characteristics of contested and gendered spaces and to address individual spatial tactics. The multidimensional view of the space is intended to show its multilocal characteristics expressed through the polisemic meaning of the space for different users opposed by the conservatory discourse of industrial cultural heritage, locating possible future struggle for meaning of space.
