Abstract
The main goal of this thesis was to describe and analyze the motal word formation in Croatian language. By comparing the descriptions of the basic terms: motion, motal word formation, the difference between the sex and gender, motal counterparts, motal sufixes, formational morphemes inherent to the motal counterparts, together with their deviation processes, we have explained the issue of the motal word formation. Special attention was dedicated to the primary position of the masculine nouns and the secondary position of the feminine nouns that were previously derived from the masculine nouns in the abovementioned process. We have also demonstrated the morphemic noun division in the motal relation, in which the counterpart nouns possess the counterpart modification. Our focus was directed towards the linguistic and non-linguistic aspects of the asymmetry found in the analysis of the masculine and feminine profession nouns, and theoretically supported by the feminist critique stances and understandings that address this issue
