Abstract
Libraries, as the foundation for the educational, cultural and information prosperity of the society, have to systematically improve their services to accommodate the needs of their users. In the last few years, social networking sites have become all the more popular, allowing millions of users to communicate and share content over the Web. Social networking sites with their numerous features have a great potential to improve the promotion of libraries as well as their communication with their users.
This paper presents how libraries exploit the potential of social networks with the example of the “Fran Galović” Public Library in Koprivnica, which can be found on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and Pinterest.
