Abstract

Archives and other cultural institutions, such as museums and libraries, tend to organise public events in order to attract users to their institutions, so as to inform them and draw public attention to their plan, programme and activities they are engaged in. Of particular importance are the users who are starting to use archival services. In order for them to become independent researchers, they need to get informed about archival work and organization. This could be achieved either by working individually with the users or by group work at the events such as courses and workshops. In this way, the students can be presented with the work of archives or, otherwise, archivists might bring the materials to the pupils and students in schools, faculties or other institutions where they could learn about the activities of an archive and get acquainted with some valuable and interesting materials.
