Abstract
This paper present creation and evolution of metal money since the appearance of the first coins until today. Coined money initially represent a token of private political power to which state and theological markings are later added during the first great war of currencies between Christian and Islamic empires in the VII. century. Paper is divided into three sections. First describes historical creation of metal coined money in the VII. century B.C. up until the creation of state banks and leaving of metal standard in the XX. century. Second describes creation and evolution of social theories of 82 economic anthropology and economic sociology, anthropology of money and sociology of money. Third reflects on anthropology of Islamic economy and sociology of new millennial religious movements and analyses different earmarking of money made of precious metals within modern Islamic economy. Paper looks at historical, social and economical monetisation and demonetisation of precious metals and recurrence of modern local and alternative metal currencies.
