Abstract

Digitization is now one of the most effective forms of protection of photographic material. In order to ensure a high quality result we must first define the key steps in the process of digitizing, set goals and priorities and, according to predetermined criteria, determine the material for digitization. Photography has its documentary value and is a unique source of information. Many archives, libraries, museums and various historical societies are increasingly turning to digitization in order to protect their photographic collections.
