Abstract

This master thesis deals with the translation of the chosen parts of Yaroslav Hrycak's monograph “Prorok u svojoj domovini, Franko i njegova zajednica‟. The first part of the translation puts the emphasis on outlining the political and socio-cultural circumstances in Galicia from the Middle Ages to the early 20th century. The second part shows the life and the creative work of Ivan Franko. The last part of the work is analytical, presenting a short cultural and translation analysis.
